Description
The GoldenDent Implant Locator-Detector System (Spotter) is an innovative device for efficient, easy and precise localization of implants buried under gum tissue during two-stage implantology (Spotter). Utilizing patentend advanced technology, the Implant Locator System is able to easily locate submerged dental implants of various brands with precision in seconds. The easy to understand illuminated guide and sound alarms on the device make the device very user friendly for the practitioner to implement into their practice with just minutes of training. Localization of implants buried under gum tissue can be a complex procedure in some cases, so let the Implant Locator System guide you to the center of your implant that you cannot see visually with ease.Attach sensors to the device. Turn device on, when Implant Locator is ready, 4 light segments blink green on the device. Insert the Implant Locator into the mouth cavity and place the sensor plane onto the gum at some distance from the estimated position of the implant (make sure sensor is flat on the tissue with no gap). The central hole of the sensor should be approximately in the middle of the jaw ridge. Slowly move the sensor along the jaw towards estimated position of the submerged implant (image 1)
When the sensor is approaching the implant, 4 light segments turn steady green (image 2). Continue movement of the sensor in the same direction without stopping until the light segments turn orange indicating that the sensor has passed the implant position (image 3). At this time, reverse direction and slowly move the sensor back along the same path toward the implant that was passed. The 4 light segments turn green again indicating sensor movement towards the implant (image 4). Continue sensor movement in reverse direction without stopping.
When the sensor returns to the implant position, 4 segments turn off and the central dot turns green indicating detection of implant location (image 5) The visual indication is accompanied by solid audio signal. Stop and hold sensor in that position and through the hole in the middle of the sensor mark on the gum location of the implant using dental probe.
To improve the precision of implant localization it is possible to perform additional cross-scanning in buccal-lingual direction.
