SRT can realize point-to-point video transmission directly in the Internet, and can realize safe, reliable and low-latency high-definition network video transmission and distribution in a complex Internet environment, between multiple locations.
It may replace RTMP in the future. The difference with RTMP is:
1. SRT supports AES encryption, so it is more secure than RTMP
2. SRT uses FEC correction technology, so it is more stable than RTMP transmission
3. SRT is based on UDT protocol and solves the problem of high transmission delay of UDT protocol and does not require server to forward. So it has a lower delay than RTMP, which can reach less than 200ms.
3. SRT supports H.265 algorithm, so under the same video quality, it occupies smaller bandwidth than RTMP.
