Description
Listing is for a single 5.6mm Osram PLT5 450B 120mW 450nm laser diode.This diode replaces the 3.8mm PL450B with the same specs just in a 5.6mm package.
At factory rated current of 165mA these will do around 175mW with a high pass lens like a G-2.
Max suggested current is 275mA which can give around 300mW with a high pass lens like a G-2.
Diodes are current hungry and as they heat up their internal resistance is lowered causing them to want to draw more current. Don't attempt to connect the diode directly to a fixed voltage source like a battery or constant voltage power supply. You must use a "constant current" laser driver with the current limited to no more than 275mA or you diode will suffer thermal runaway and die.
