    Wonder Bread Hosiery Sewing Mending Kit
    .
    This stocking repair kit was made to look like match books and given away as advertising samples back in the 1950's.  They measure approx. 1 1/2" x 2".  This matchbook has thread and 10 glue sticks but does not have a needle.  These kits were very popular during and after WWII when nylon stockings were hard to find.  The glue sticks were moistened and applied to either end of the run on the stocking and the needle and thread were used to darn it.
